CBC Arts: Artist Portraits

From 2017 to 2019, SILENT TOWER produced, directed and edited just under 20 short-form documentary portraits for CBC ARTS that were broadcast on CBC’s EXHIBITIONISTS and published on CBC’s Youtube Channel. Most notably, SILENT TOWER produced and directed the digital series ART KIDS, traveling across Canada to spotlight young artists, like Nunavut-based soapstone carver David Pudlat and drag queen performance artist Lactatia based in Montreal. Included in this series is the short-doc portrait on then-12 year old sculpture artist Callum Donovan Grujicich, which is the channel’s most viewed video with over six million views on Youtube. In 2019, Silent Tower directed two episodes for the series ART HURTS, featuring the work of tattoo artists Ilona Fiddy and Tee Fergus and produced the short documentary LANDSCAPES based on multi-media artist Alex McLeod’s digital worlds.
